Creating the Family Advent Wreath – Part I

The first in a series of three…   width=
The table closely resembled early preparations of a gathering space for Thanksgiving dinner. The setting included bowls, brushes, markers and plates.  On each side of the table covering read: The Season of Advent is a time to Celebrate the coming of Jesus. Across from the message read: We watch and wait for signs of God’s Love in the World.

Beginning the process...Materials Needed:  9 inch paper plate,  4 small plastic cups, green, purple and pink tissue paper, and 4 battery operated tea lights.

Directions are simple and easy to follow:

  1. Glue four of the small plastic cups around the edge  of the plate, so they are equally spaced.  If your plate was a clock, your cups should be in the 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock spots
  2. Prepare the tissue paper for your wreath
    a.  Pick green, purple, and pink squares of tissue paper
    b. Twist the tissue paper around the bottom of a pencil or marker
  3.  Use a brush to spread some glue around the cups. You don’t need a  lot of glue for the tissue paper
