The table closely resembled early preparations of a gathering space for Thanksgiving dinner. The setting included bowls, brushes, markers and plates. On each side of the table covering read: The Season of Advent is a time to Celebrate the coming of Jesus. Across from the message read: We watch and wait for signs of God’s Love in the World.
Materials Needed: 9 inch paper plate, 4 small plastic cups, green, purple and pink tissue paper, and 4 battery operated tea lights.
Directions are simple and easy to follow:
Glue four of the small plastic cups around the edge of the plate, so they are equally spaced. If your plate was a clock, your cups should be in the 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock spots
Prepare the tissue paper for your wreath
a. Pick green, purple, and pink squares of tissue paper
b. Twist the tissue paper around the bottom of a pencil or marker
Use a brush to spread some glue around the cups. You don’t need a lot of glue for the tissue paper
I am a life-long learning; by profession, I am a special education teacher. I teach with passion and the belief that within each student is the "inner teacher" guiding them to find the answers to life's most important questions. With that said, I seek creative ways to help my students discover their inner teacher. I find myself involved in a lot of projects and programs. Other interests include: writing and reflecting on my teaching practice, hosting guests at my BnB, DIY home projects, gardening, composting, aquaponics, reading, and spending time with family and friends. My life values are guided by the Gospel of Jesus and the Franciscan Charism. I am an Associate of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart which at the heart is showing compassion and doing works of neighborly love.
